Guest Rooms at The Inn
Nestledown offers six thoughtfully designed accommodations in our Inn: five standard guest rooms and one spacious suite. Among the standard rooms, three feature queen-size beds and three offer king-size beds. Each room is unique, bright, and welcoming—perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Marquette. - Nestledown has a coded front entry door and individual room keys for your ease and safety. Rooms are numbered 1 through 5 and “The Suite.” Room #1 is located on the main floor and and the other guest rooms are on the second floor.
- Each room has its own private and unique bathroom with a subway tiled tub/shower alcove, a window for natural light and fresh air, plenty of towels, shampoo, blow dryers.
- For your room comfort, we have smooth cotton sheets and pillowcases, cotton duvets, down and poly fill comforters, or poly fill comforters and blankets for summer. We often dress the bed Scandinavian style, meaning no top sheet. The duvet is your sheet and is washed for each guest stay. Sometimes we go all Scandinavian and you get your own duvet and comforter – no sharing!
- You also will find extra pillows and a blanket or throw in the room. The mattresses are made by King Koil and are medium firm. We have covered them in bedbug covers overlaid by a soft mattress pad.
- Each room has a comfortable chair and Smart TV, along with WiFi and individual room passwords. There are luggage racks for your suitcases, along with a closet with shelf in the entryway.
- The rooms are light and bright. Best of all are the windows. They are large, double-hung windows that open for fresh air or so you can hear the comforting sounds of Lake Superior. Individual room thermostats allow you to set your own temperature, no matter the season or forecast.

Room 1
Our first floor guest room has been upgraded with a pretty honey colored King bed set. Enjoy a brand new mattress from Detroit Mattress Co., and your own private bathroom featuring cast iron Kohler tub and subway tiled shower. Smart TV with streaming and wifi. This fresh, light and lovely room has 4 large windows and is located on the North West corner of the Inn. Scandinavian style sleeping with cotton duvet. Restful!
Room 2
Upstairs and first door on the left takes you to Room #2 and features a Queen size pine sleigh bed with very cool claw feet, and a brand new, made in Michigan King Koil mattress set, carefully selected to promote your best sleep. The bed will be dressed Scandinavian style with one or maybe two cotton duvets. Light and perfectly warm. You will have a private bath with a cast iron Kohler tub and subway tiled shower. This sweet bathroom has white mosaic floor tile and red bath vanity too. Just like all the bathrooms at the Inn, there is a large mirror, great lighting and a large window for fresh air while you shower. Amazing after a solid nights rest!
Room 3
Nice and New! You will enjoy a warm toned room upstairs on the Northeast corner of the Inn that offers a new Queen sleigh bed and a brand new King Koil mattress set, firm, but with just right cushioning on the top to promote a refreshing nights sleep. Scandinavian style bedmaking with 1 or 2 duvets per bed. Do you like your own covers? Your private bath features rust colored tile giving a decorating nod to the iron ore heritage of the UP and a Kohler cast iron tub with subway tile referencing the classic early 20th century bathroom. A comfortable chair and ottoman with 4 large windows to catch the light and that super fresh breeze off Lake Superior come with this space.
Room 4
Room number 4 is upstairs, front and center and faces directly East towards Lake Superior. A sturdy pine, queen size bed snugged up to the wall with swing arm lights for quiet reading, a brand new, made in Michigan King Koil mattress set for easy sleep is ready for you. Scandinavian style bed covers with cotton duvets. Your private bath with the blue cabinet,(blue like the lake), large window, Kohler cast iron tub with white subway shower tile and a fresh gray floor make getting ready for the day just plain nice. Good to have two large room windows for the morning sun.
Room 5
Here we go. Upstairs on the southwest side of the Inn you will find room 5. We made a change from the XL twin beds and furnished it with a king size platform bed and brand new mattress from Detroit Mattress company. It feels modernly Scandinavian. This is a large room with a large window and private bath. A cool gray cabinet with Corian counter top, cast iron Kohler tub and subway tiled shower is ready for you. 100% cotton duvets make for breathable covers and snug sleeping. Love it! This remains a flexible room and does fit our twin extra bed roll if needed. Calming and restful describe this space.
The Suite
Wonderful large space to return to after exploring Marquette; Wow is the word when you see it. The Suite is upstairs and occupies the upper third of the Inn with windows on the East, South and West. A large living room with gas fireplace, table and chairs, a twin size day bed and then a separate bedroom with a King size 4 poster pine bed dressed with that refreshingly light Scandinavian vibe welcomes you back. The bathroom is huge with a large mirror, double sinks and a closet ante room for you to unpack and stay a while. A Kohler expanse tub with a white subway tiled alcove shower is flooded with light from the two windows. Everyone can get ready at once just about. This room has been designed to accommodate a small family with a mattress/bed roll for the 4th sleeper.
Cottage by the Lake
The Cottage is designed with a small family or group in mind and available for rent by the week or for long weekend getaways. This is perfect for a vacation in the City of Marquette that is on the bike path and across from the park and sandy shore of Lake Superior.
